I personally do not know of anyone around here hiring right now. Eddie worked in Arrapahoe this week and said there is plenty of building going on down that way as well as a huge bridge being built that could be looking for help(sorry for the vague info, ncdot.org seems to be down).

Short of knowing where you have applied, were these places looking for help or did you just stop in? Do you know why you were not hired at these places(this is good information to know)? I'll state the obvious. Have you checked on the ESC website (http://www.ncesc.com/individual/jis/jisMain.asp?init=true)? Or tried places such as Coastal Staffing? It's temporary work but a small paycheck is better than not having one at all...

did all that. applied for positions hiring. mostly ones that are what I do for a living for years now, and they say I don't have the experience they need. 13 yrs isn't enough I guess...

Are you listed with the temp agencies? If there isn't anything out there in your specialty, I guess it's time to look for something different that doesn't require much experience. RPC and Barhill are often looking for help...

RPC is hiring for a large equipment operator. Doubt they will hire me. Who or what is Barhill? I had so many jobs ppl wanted done this fall, but with the economy, I don't know they are gonna do it now...
